This book was disappointing Instead of it being full of good stories, it often read like an amateur sociology textbook The book was poorly written The author would have done much better in this case to have hired a ghost writer to tell the story for him Even worse, this book was plagued with proofreading errors, which made it absolutely frustrating to read I wanted to get a red pen and fix it all, but fortunately for me I was on the beach and didn t have one handy I give it two stars becau This [...]

I really enjoyed this book about an alternative high school in New Jersey The author was principal there and worked to instill a feeling of family among students and faculty The students were tossed out of their home high schools for behavior problems, drug and alcohol problems and being unable to earn any credits after 2 or 3 years of high school No one else wanted them His stories blend heart wrenching sorrow and life affirming successes I won this book in a Good Reads giveaway.
