      I received this book in the first reads program.This book took me back to the wind swept slickrock canyons and the beautiful mountains of the southwest I spent much time there, and the author did a great job of making it real with his own beautiful language and excerpts from Ruess work I had never heard of Everett Ruess before, and because of this book, I researched the young artist and wanderer and his art DeMayo does honor to Everett Ruess My mind often returns to things written I received thi [...]

      Leaves me happyI feel Everest is with his Navajo woman and living his dream, both growing old and enjoying the beauty and peace of the wilderness One of the nice feature of the book is it allows one to draw their own conclusion of Everett s fate.
