      The author has done a fantastic job of researching the history, and then surrounding the characters in that history with color and enthusiasm and bringing every element together into an amazing story Mr Bargatze s ability to put these elements into words is a true gift.

      The author creates strong characters set in a historical context that I really knew little about Post civil war in the South is described in a setting of recurrent seasonal attacks of Yellow Fever How citizens of Memphis and specifically the protagonist and his extended circle of family and friends is described with great insights by Mr Bargatze Great series
