      My wife got me this for no reason as is inscribed by her on the inside The actual reason is that I am a fan of Shirley Jackson s work, obviously Seventeen different artists illustrate an equal number of Ms Jackson s stories in this book It helps you to absorb what is being put across in those frames if you are familiar with the stories but it isn t necessary the black and white cartoons are entertaining in their own cartoon way There is a bio section about each of the artists at the end of this [...]

      This book gets five stars for existing, basically Shirley Jackson forever Thanks so much to Kelsey for getting this for me at Short Run Some of these comics are really great, some are just OK, but I love the idea of a collection of comics inspired and adapted from an author I love Definitely worth a look.

      A must have for Jackson completists It made me want to read of her work and reread other stories as well as the recent biography And what can you ask of a tribute project Read some of her work beforehand so you can appreciate the humor, the poignancy and the domestic horror of these portraits.
